TONS OF INFO: PLEASE READ TO THE END!
Dolphin Families,
Lots of information in this so please read all the way through!
Tomorrow we will have a special practice for 11ups! Coach Mark from the Stingrays is coming from 10:15-11:15! We will do a warmup at 10am, but practice will go a little longer if that works for everyone. Starting at regular time and going 15 minutes extra.
Meet #4 will be a NEON theme! Please make sure you have declared your swimmer by NOON on Friday! If they are not signed in, they will not swim. Go in now when you are thinking of it! And double check if you think they are signed in. We need your swimmers! I will send out information about this meet as soon as our opponent sends it to us.
We have lost our last two meets, BUT we were swimming against some TOUGH teams with a LOT of all year-round swimmers. Our last team had over 200 kids on the team! (Not all swimming that night, but that’s a HUGE team!) We are working hard during practice to go over things we may have had disqualifications for.
We are getting closer to the end of season. Important dates:
June 23rd (next Friday) is SWIMATHON! If you have not done a Swimathon before, you will not want to miss! It is a ton of fun and your swimmer will be celebrated before, during, and after swimming. Look at the schedule below because there is a time change for 13-18s. Aloha Ice will be our special treat after swimming! You may pick up your ribbons, but we will not have donuts that day.
We will have another poster contest this year for Swimathon! Make a poster for the Swimathon with the It’s The Journey name on it to qualify! Posters are due June 21 (next Wednesday)!
Swim-a-Thon Schedule June 23rd: NO GUPPIES OR CLINICS THAT DAY

Swimmers will come at their designated time, gather outside of the pool gate waiting for coaches, and turn in pledge sheet to a facilitator.
Swimmers will do a group cheer and be announced before entering into given lane.
Swimmers will swim as many laps as possible during the 15 or 30 min time (depends on age), taking breaks as needed. A designated counter will count laps. WE WILL NEED PARENTS TO COUNT LAPS!
At the end of said time, the swimmer will exit the water, the counter will turn in the count to a facilitator, and the swimmer will be able to grab ALOHA ICE!
- If he/she wants to, they can cheer on the next group of swimmers outside of the pool gates.
June 26th is our last meet and it is a PINK OUT theme! Money earned through Swimathon will go toward the It’s The Journey nonprofit. Please read about it on our site! It is an awesome charity that keeps all the money in GA to help families working through breast cancer.
June 27th is our mini meet for Guppies. NO PRACTICE for Dolphins! Guppies will need to be at the pool from 9-11am. We will do some swimming and celebrate our Guppies as they finish the season strong! Each Guppy will earn a special medal and treat bag. If some of our Dolphins want to come cheer them on, feel free!
June 28th is our end of season celebration for the Dolphins. We will have Waffle House with waffles and hashbrowns. We will have breakfast in shifts, play some water games, do special awards, medals, and prizes for Swimathon. The party will be from 8am-12pm. I need you to RSVP by the 23rd for the count for WH: SUPER IMPORTANT!
If you have Swimathon prizes to donate (we still need a ton!), please get them to me no later than the 21st(next Wednesday)! We need to figure out our baskets. If there are people out there that would like to help put baskets together, please let me know!
Thank you for all your patience and support throughout the season, especially in reading this all the way to the end!
