Our Annual Swim-a-thon
Join our team as we raise funds to support our community!
Each year we participate in a Swim-a-thon to raise extra funds. We split the proceeds between the Dolphin team and a community need. Once again, this year we will be contributing funds to Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (formerly called It's The Journey, Inc.): a non-profit dedicated to raising money to fund grants that provide breast cancer education, screening, early detection, support services, and continuing care for Georgians.
Over the past several years we have been able to donate over $21,000 to non-profits because of YOU.
We chose Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer a few years ago after hearing our CSSL president's story of his wife's own battle with breast cancer. All the funds stay local for Georgians. For more information, please visit gaabc.org. In addition, we will also participate in the PINK OUT for our last meet to support the cause.
How does a Swim-a-thon work?
You, the swimmer, will call, email, or visit your friends, family, and neighbors. Ask them if they would like to “Sponsor” you for your Blue Dolphins Team.
Anyone can sponsor you through a one-time flat donation, such as a donation of $25. You collect these at the time of the donation.
OR
Someone can pledge to give you a certain amount of money per lap, such as a donation of $.10 per lap. (one lap = one length of the pool/25 yards) You will collect this after you swim.
- On June 12, 2026, you will bring your sponsor sheet and any one-time donations to turn in that morning. Tip: take a picture of your sponsor sheet for collections later.
- You will swim for fifteen or thirty minutes (depending on age), completing as many laps as you are able in the designated time.
- Bring a “Counter” with you to count your own laps! You can have your parent count laps or ask another adult to count for you. Your counter will keep track of each time you touch an end of the pool.
- Once you are finished, you will go home and collect any lap money that was pledged!
- Please collect and turn in all money by June 19, 2026 to have the opportunity to WIN PRIZES!
We will have VENMO for payments again this year to make it easier!
We have prizes for TOP FUNDRAISERS and TOP FAMILY FUNDRAISER, as well as TOP LAP SWIMMERS in each age group!
Prizes will be awarded on June 24, 2026 at the Dolphin Celebration.
Any donation is welcome! A donation of $25 is required to be eligible for prizes given on the last day.

Swim-a-Thon Schedule
Swim-a-Thon Schedule June 12th
7:15-7:50 Set up for Swim-a-thon
8:00-8:45 7&8s (swimmers swim for 30 min)
8:45-9:15 5&6s (swimmers swim for 15 min)
9:15-10:00 9&10s (swimmers swim for 30 min)
10:00-10:45 11&12s (swimmers swim for 30 min)
10:45-11:30 13-18s (swimmers swim for 30 min)
11:30-12:00 Clean up
Swimmers will come at their designated time, gather outside of the pool gate waiting for coaches, and check in with coordinator.
Swimmers will do a group cheer and be announced before entering into given lane.
Swimmers will swim as many laps as possible during the 15 or 30 min time (depends on age), taking breaks as needed. A designated counter will count laps.
At the end of said time, the swimmer will exit the water, the counter will turn in the count to a facilitator, and the swimmer will be able to grab a special treat! If he/she wants to, they can cheer on the next group of swimmers outside of the pool gates.
Collection and Prizes
All donations will be collected and turned in via Venmo, cash or check by June 19th. Prizes will be given out on June 24th at the End of Season Celebration!
